Although its not officially Spring, I’ve been getting really anxious for warm weather! Summer might be a few months away, but thankfully my Spring vacation is right around the corner! With warm weather in mind, I’ve freshened up my blonde and taken my tan to the next level. Read on below to find out how I maintain my tan and highlights.
FINISHING POWDER: || Makeup Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder in Neutral Beige
CONTOUR & BLUSH: || Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in Medium to Tan & Milani Baked Blush (Luminous Peach
HIGHLIGHT: || Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit
MASCARA : || Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara
TAN : || To achieve a deep natural-looking tan, I do a cocktail of a UV bed with a VersaSpa Sunless Tan. The UV bed helps stimulate melanin production while opening the pores aiding the absorption of the sunless spray. I always use the Catalina Spray because it’s a violet based bronzer, which helps to avoid any unwanted orange hues. Click here to read about my go-to tanning lotion.
HIGHLIGHTS : || To freshen up my blonde ends, I used a packet of Clairol Kaleidocolors Blue Powder Lightener mixed with Loreal 20 Volume Creme Developer. I began by applying this to my ends while gradually working the product upwards towards my roots. By applying the product in this fashion I was able to revitalize my professional ombre that was starting to show through, so I wasn’t totally going in blind. I am by no means a professional and take BIG risks by doing my hair at home, but thankfully it all worked out and it only costs about $10. I typically seek professional aid when bleaching my hair as it can be very drying, but i am a huge fan of toning my hair at home. To tone out any brassiness after bleaching I use Wella T18 by Color Charm and Loreal 20 Volume Creme Developer. I apply this mixture to problem areas first, before coating the rest of my blonde strands. I generally keep it away from my roots as they are naturally a gray-brown, and don’t need to be toned. The toner usually lasts 1-2 months with the help of a weekly purple shampoo, but generally leaves your hair less brassy than before application even after it washes away.
